In 2011, Max Chapman stepped into the spotlight. Still aged only 23, Max’s quick rise to the forefront of the UK’s underground house circuit had come solely as a result of his own passion, energy and talent. 2012 finds Max as a much more developed artist. Having already amassed an impressive clutch of releases, Max is now an established producer as well as a constantly in demand DJ and now even in charge of his own label, Resonance Records.
Having purchased his first set of decks at the age of 15, Max quickly drew attention from local promoters who were quick to book him for guest slots at parties all over the South East. Applying his trade in humble surroundings, Max honed his skills behind the decks, mastering the art of understanding, reacting to and controlling a crowd. These easily identifiable skills have led to Max being snapped up for performances at some of the most prolific parties in the UK, with Sankeys in Manchester, Back to Basics in Leeds, Creche in London and so many more all falling for his crunching basslines and melodic grooves.
Right from his very first release, Max has been a producer that catches the eye. ‘Don’t Go’ from his debut EP even got a play on Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 show whilst going on to reach the summit of Beatport’s Charts. Since then Max has built on the success, steadily developing his sound with releases on important imprints such as Electronique Digital, Kaluki Music, Movements, Lower East and Hot Waves.
His own label, Resonance Records perhaps signals Max’s grandest statement of intent so far. Set up as a platform for a mixture of rising talent and already established artists to get their music out there, Resonance Records has quickly garnered a reputation for quality with a collection of vital cuts on ‘Resonance Records Volume I’ which is available both digitally and on vinyl.
A versatile DJ / producer who is well known for his ability to ignite the floor, Max now travels the width and breadth of the UK not to mention Europe as demand for his performances increases by the day. Just as he starts to clock up the air miles, Max is now ramping up the gears and taking things to the next level.
